Getting started

  1. Open the app from Apps in your Shopify admin and click Create offer.
  2. Choose the product (or up to three for the buyer to choose from) and the discount, who sees the offer, and how it looks. The preview shows the card buyers will see. Turn on Live and save.
  3. In your admin, go to Settings › Checkout, find Post-purchase page, select TYNA Upsells and click Save. Until it's selected there, no offers are shown. Only one post-purchase app can be selected at a time.
  4. Test it: place an order paid by card (on a development store, with Shopify's test payment gateway and card number 1). After paying, the offer appears before the Thank you page.

Funnels

A funnel is a first offer plus what happens next. On the Funnels board, connect the first offer's Accept path to a follow-up and its Decline path to a downsell. A buyer sees at most two offers per order.

Each step is charged only when the buyer accepts it, and every accepted offer is added to the same order.

Why didn't my offer show?

Shopify only shows the post-purchase page when:

  • The buyer paid by credit or debit card. It isn't shown after Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay, PayPal, Shop Pay Installments, Klarna, Affirm, Afterpay or other wallets and installment services, gift cards, or payment providers that require the card's security code to be stored (such as Braintree or PayPal Payments Pro).
  • The order is shipped. It isn't shown for local delivery, and an offer can't be added to an order without a shipping address (for example digital-only orders or local pickup).
  • TYNA Upsells is selected in Settings › Checkout › Post-purchase page.

The app itself shows an offer only when

  • The offer is Live and inside its start and end dates, if it has them.
  • The order matches the offer's Who sees it rules and none of its exclusions.
  • The offered item isn't one the buyer just bought in that order, and it isn't sold out (unless you turned those checks off).

Common questions

Is the buyer charged without agreeing?

No. The buyer sees the product, its discounted price and the new total including shipping and taxes, and nothing is added or charged unless they click the accept button. Declining takes them on to the Thank you page, or to the downsell if you set one.

How many offers does a buyer see?

One first offer per order; if several match, the one with the highest priority is shown. With a funnel, one more after it: at most two per order.

Can I change the colours and fonts?

The post-purchase page uses your checkout's branding; change it in Settings › Checkout › Customize. In the app you choose the layout, images, selling points, pickers and timer.

Where do I see results?

In the app's Analytics. Accepted offers also appear on the order itself, marked as edited by TYNA Upsells.

Turning offers off

  • To pause one offer, open the app and click Turn off next to it.
  • To stop all post-purchase offers, go to Settings › Checkout › Post-purchase page and choose None.

Uninstalling

Go to Settings › Apps in your Shopify admin, find TYNA Upsells and click Uninstall. Offers stop straight away and the app adds nothing to your theme, so there's nothing to clean up. The app's access is removed immediately, and its data about your store is deleted when Shopify asks for it, about 48 hours later. See the privacy policy.
